Dear 5th Grade Families,
Is your 5th grader an aspiring actor or stage technician (interested in set design/building, props and keeping the show going behind the scenes)?
Does your 5th grader need a fun after-school activity this Spring?
Are you looking for a way for your child to practice and use their Spanish outside of the school day?
We have the program for you! Your Key PTA has partnered with respected local youth theater organization Encore Stage & Studio to mount a full-stage, 5th grade production at Escuela Key this Spring. “The Rabbit in the Moon/El Conejo en la Luna” is an original bilingual play newly commissioned by Encore Stage & Studio. There will be three teaching artists (including Spanish-speaker(s)) giving your children the opportunity to grow and discover themselves through theatre.
Students will meet Tuesday and Thursday after school from April 1 to May 29th. Dress rehearsals will be June 3 & 4th. On June 5th, students will present their play to Key students during the day and to family and friends in the evening. Students will be the actors, set designers, and stage crew — there is a role for everyone!
Registration will open on Monday, February 24th and scholarships are available!

- Registration opens: 8:00 am on Monday, February 24

Program Info
- First day of rehearsals: Tuesday, April 1, 2025 (after that rehearsals will be every Tuesday & Thursday, 3:50 pm to 5:45 pm)
- Dress rehearsals: Tuesday and Wednesday, June 3 and 4, 2025
- Performance will be held: Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Key
- Fee: $275 (scholarships are available to students who qualify)
